5 Ways To Help Keep America Beautiful
Keep America Beautiful is celebrating the Great American Cleanup’s 25th year in 2023, between March 21 to June 22. If you haven’t participated in a cleanup yet, there’s still time to get involved. Join the spring cleaning movement and contribute to cleaner communities across the country.
Ready to help maintain clean, green, and beautiful spaces? Here are just a few of the many ways you can still get involved.
- Sign up to volunteer at your local Great American Cleanup event. If there are no volunteer events near you, do your own cleanup — have you tried earthing yet?
- Set a goal to pick up litter for at least 10 minutes each day for one week. You’ll help keep your community clean and may even influence others to join in.
- Keep the storm drains on your block clear of litter and debris. Wind and rainfall can sweep litter and debris into local storm drain systems, which empty out to the waterways unfiltered and untreated.
- Go plogging. Plogging combines jogging with picking up litter, offering exercise benefits while supporting your community and the environment.
- Teach your children how to recycle with fun activities and recycling books.
